Ask the manufacturer or the plastic compound materials suppliers. When CESCO selected engineered materials for its plastic components (including plungers, regulators, refill tubes, and hush tubes) we found that several materials manufacturers were reluctant to recommend certain polymers for plumbing applications. The reason given: possible degradation of the material if subjected to high concentrations of chlorine and chlorine-related compounds particularly at the water line of toilet tank components.
