The C-L is determined by ASSE-authorized labs in a standardized procedure for certification of each valve model tested. Based on the design and geometry of each valve, the C-L gives absolute assurance that the tank will not overflow and the valve will not back-siphon in a worst-case scenario. With the plunger held fully open, all valve seals fouled with a 0.03 wire, the refill tube disengaged from the overflow tube and submerged in the tank water, a high supply line vacuum is drawn to determine at what height there is no chance of back-siphonage. NOTE: The ASSE C-L mark is clearly and permanently marked on all of CESCO's anti-siphon ballcocks. Identifying Company and Model Number designations are also shown on each valve.
